Nick’s father was a well-known broker in Kings Lynn for over 40 years, so you could say he was born into the industry! Nick started his insurance career with Norwich Union in Norwich, at the age of 16 and moved back to Kings Lynn in1995 to work in a local brokerage. In 1999 he set up IBA Insurance Services Ltd, with the support of the IBA Group, to provide a traditional broking service and maintain a high level of professional advice and insurance knowledge to our clients, something which was being lost due to the rise of the internet. In 2012 Nick & Claire took full control of the general insurance business and are determined to maintain the core values of the business which is to take care of all clients, provide professional advice whilst maintaining competitive premiums for all.
Claire joined IBA Insurance in January 2009 to administer client and insurer accounts prior to a new accounting system being introduced. Claire had gained accounting experience by previously working within accounts departments of other local businesses and being involved in a number of local community groups. Claire became a director of IBA Insurance Services Ltd in 2012 and now not only deals with accounts but is involved in many aspects of making sure the business runs smoothly.
Nick joined IBA Insurance Services in July 2014 having worked for the NFU and NFU Mutual since 2001 and is well known in the Farming Community of West Norfolk. He started his career in 1990 with Norwich Union as a Commercial and Motor Fleet Underwriter. With Nick’s expertise in Commercial and Agricultural Insurances he will be assisting with the existing book of clients and will be looking to grow the overall account, especially in these areas of the business.
Stephen started in accounting with Whiting & Partners in 1980 and moved to Stanes Rand in 2000 before going freelance in 2008. Stephen joined IBA Insurance Services Ltd in 2009 to assist in bringing a new accounting system in to the business and became a permanent member of our team in 2010 to oversee our accounting functions. In 2012 Stephen also took on the role of company secretary.
Sarah joined us in November 2008 as a trainee, quickly learning the skills needed and gaining knowledge of many different types of insurance. Over the next 3 years Sarah developed her skills whilst being promoted within the personal lines department and since 2016 also deals with small commercial cases. In December 2010 Sarah took on the role of acting office manager, covering maternity leave, and in 2011 was given the position on a permanent basis. Sarah is a key member of our team and is our trainer of all new members of staff.
Stuart Joined IBA Insurance in July 2017 after gaining 11 years experience in the insurance industry, 8 years with a national broker and 3 years with a local commercial broker dealing with business clients.
Stuart has vast knowledge of Commercial and Emerging Risks Markets and will look to use this when handling existing clients as well as speaking to new clients.
Angela joined IBA Insurance Services in December 2016 having worked for D W Moore in Fakenham since 1993 having begun her career within Insurance in 1976 with Sun Alliance. Angela has joined our commercial team to assist in strengthening our reputation, to deal with new business quotes for small commercial risks, renewals and provide advice to new and existing clients.
Katie joined IBA Insurance in May 2016, after gaining five and a half years experience working as a motor insurance customer service representative for a national broker. She gained knowledge from dealing with new business, adjustments and general queries. Katie has put her experience to good use since joining us, along with being given one to one training on other personal insurance products such as Home and Travel.
